Colocation Services For Existing IT Resources

Even a company that already owns IT equipment can benefit from offshore hosting. A colocation setup allows a client to use their own hardware in an IT firm’s hosting facility. This service is designed to allow a company total control over their IT resources while contracting out its operation to a hosting company. Essentially, when a company uses colocation services, they are renting rack space, bandwidth and connectivity from a provider.
Colocation is an excellent choice in many situations. Companies with existing IT equipment can use colocation to eliminate the need to keep a server room in-house and staff personnel to run and maintain the equipment. In addition, professional hosting facilities include redundant system for power and climate control along with a dedicated professional staff. In essence, an offshore hosting provider can typically run a server more efficiently with more uptime. This configuration allows a company to have total control over their server without having to worry about the hassles and responsibilities of hosting the physical needs of that server.
